Welcome to Houghton Lake Travel Park!

(989) 422-3931

We are a Good Sam Park.  That means… if you are a Good Sam member, you get 10% off daily camping rates, unless there is a special going on, such as Spring and Fall discounted rates.  We can sign you up to be a Good Sam member here at the park.  Check in the office!

We are enjoying another great summer of camping this year… summer of 2017!  If you want to make reservations, please do so very soon.   We are taking many reservations, and the camping season is winding down for this year.   We anticipate having a lot of activity around the campground this fall!

Announcement!!!   We have built a large permanent pavilion in the birch grove area of the campground this Spring!  This will be great for potlucks, family reunions, get-togethers, special events, and worship services.  The longer term goal is to cement the floor, enclose half of it, and run electricity to it for coffee pots, crock pots, frying pans, sound systems,  etc.  Looking forward to regularly using this facility!!

2017 INFORMATION

Water will be turned off to the individual campsites on Monday, October 2, 2017.    Last day for campers will be Sunday, October 15th, because the park will be closing on Monday, October 16th, 2017 for the year.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION (for next year – 2018!)

***Seasonal campers may access their units any time starting in April.   You may have to park your vehicle and walk back to your unit, totally depending on the weather and conditions of the ground.  If the ground is fairly solid, you may drive back in the campground. Water to the bathrooms, showers, etc. will be turned on mid-April. Please do not expect the honey-do wagon to be available for trailer dumps until sometime in early May.

***The campground will be open to transient campers beginning on Friday, April 20th, 2018.  Please note, however, that water to the individual campsites will not be turned on until risk of freezing is minimized, probably early May.   All campsites will be a discounted rate of $30.00 per night until the water has been turned on to the individual sites.

Check our rates page for camping rates.

Houghton Lake Travel Park Campground is a family oriented camping park. We consider it our mission to promote family activities and to encourage families to do things together. We want the park to be a safe and inviting place for all, from small children to older adults.  Features of our park include:  large sites, all pull through, water, electric, sewer, wireless internet at sites, cabins, a primitive tenting area, a sparkling clean heated pool, playground, store, and coffee shop with goodies and ice cream!  All of this is just down the road from Houghton Lake, the largest inland lake in Michigan.

On weekend evenings, kids (and those who are kids at heart!) can ride the train and get popcorn! If you are looking for a warm and friendly family park, you have found it!  Please join us  :)
